About red light therapy for dogs
Red light therapy - also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) - is an exciting new area of research in pet wellness. Red light therapy offers non-invasive, drug-free, and pain free support, and is used in veterinary clinics across the US.
Red light therapy is already widely used by humans in spas and wellness clinics – now it’s your pet’s turn to enjoy the benefits!
Arthritis and joint support
Studies have shown that red light therapy may contribute to better outcomes for dogs with arthritis. In 2018, a study showed that 9 out of 11 dogs with elbow osteoarthritis that received red light therapy were able to reduce reliance on pain medications. In 2022, another study showed that dogs with hip osteoarthritis enjoyed an enhanced range of motion from 15 to 90 days post-treatment, alongside less pain and higher quality of life.
Post-operative recovery
Research shows red light therapy can accelerate wound healing, reduce postoperative inflammation, and lower pain scores in dogs after some surgical procedures. In one study, dogs receiving red light therapy after surgery had lower pain scores and resumed normal activities sooner compared with controls.
Other benefits
Animal hospitals and veterinary clinics across the United States are offering red light therapy to treat skin conditions, speed wound healing, and relax muscles.
Veterinary-grade wellness at home
While you should always consult a veterinarian prior to beginning a course of red light therapy, repeated office visits can be expensive and traumatic, especially if your pet gets nervous at the vet. Tashi Tashi red light wraps let your pet enjoy the benefits of red light therapy, at a fraction of the cost of repeated office visits, in the comfort of your home.
